EBS Centravac: For a complete ducted vacuum solution!

EBS Centravac
Powerful, Quiet & Reliable!

1. How does an EBS Centravac built in vacuum cleaner work?

Basically, the power unit is centrally located (usually in the garage). Pipes are run from the central unit within the constraints of the home to ideally located inlets. A very low votage wire connects these inlets to the power unit. When the cuff of the hose is plugged into an inlet the power unit automatically commences working (or once the switch on the powered hose is used). The user can then choose the appropriate cleaning tool and commence cleaning. All of the debis is carried (ie, sucked) back to the bin on the power unit for easy disposal.

2. What kind of debris does it remove?

The EBS Centravac system is capable of removing most types of household debris, both large and small (the system is not suited for wet applications and items such as cement dust, plaster dust, floor sandings & flour should not be vacuumed up using any vacuum cleaner).

3. How good is an EBS Centravac ducted vacuum at cleaning and helping allergy sufferers?

With the unit located away from the living area and a 100% filtration system ALL of the vacuumed materials are removed from the home, leading to a much healthier environment. Central cleaning systems are endorsed by the Asthma Foundation due to their complete and easy dust removal.

4. How frequently will the filter need to be changed?

The filter of the EBS Centravac unit is designed to maintain its own cleaning. In addition, the power units have been fitted with a filter shaker which can be used to remove any build up of debris on the filter. The filter is designed to last the life-time of the power unit.

5. How frequently will the bin need to be emptied?

Emptying the bin is best done when the bin is no more than half-full, and isn't too heavy! This, for an average home, would mean that the bin would need emptying approximately once every four or five months.

6. How noisy is the EBS power unit?

The EBS Centravac power units are quiet (56db approx @ 2m) and are even quieter if the optional muffler is fitted (~52db).

7. How long will the unit last?

The life of the power unit will vary depending on many factors: quality of the power supply, location, usage, etc. Fifteen years is an approximate range.

8. Is the hose heavy and awkward to use?

Our hoses are light and crushproof. They are also definitely not aqkward to use! There is a simple knack to starting and finishing the cleaning job, and it is a much easier job that trying to drag around a portable cleaner!

9. Is the whole system expensive?

The cost of a system will most likely be less expensive than you might think. Costing would vary depending on the nature of the construction and the number of inlets (and thus the metres of pipe required). 10. How much would it cost to install the system?

Installation costs will depend on location, the nature of the houses construction, whether the home is existing or buing built, etc

11. Is it possible to install the system into an existing home?

Yes, existing homes in most cases can have an EBS central ducted vacuum installed. However, an inspection would generally be required as every case is different.

12. How many inlets will I need?

The number of inlets will be determined by the area and layout of the floor plan. The important issue is to ensure that the hose will easily reach everywhere in the home.

13. How is distance from the power unit likely to affect the performance?

With the EBS Centravac motors, it is not distance that is important so much as the number of elbows between any one inlet and the power unit.

14. Is the system likely to get clogged?

If the ducting is properly installed clogging is very unlikely. In the unlikely event that it does occur, a phone call to us is usually enough and we are more that happy to help you get the piping unclogged!

15. Is servicing available should it be needed?

At EBS Centravac we carry all possible parts in stock. Thus in the unlikely event of servicing being required we will have the parts needed and our agents will be able to get the unit back up and running in the shortest possible time.
